It was a cold and very wild morning at Salterstown. Difficult conditions for photography. Within 2 minutes of setting up my feet were drenched by a huge wave. Had I been on my own, I might have been tempted to pack up and head home again ! However with 4 friends from Malahide Camera Club with me, the pressure was on to produce at least one shot from the mornings shoot. As it was so windy, everything from the tripod was looking a bit blurry, so resorted to hand-holding for this shot at the shoreline. I like it alot as it captures the drama in both the sea and the sky.
Headed out again to Salterstown this morning for sunrise. The tide was coming in fast and we managed to grab our shots on the pier before it was completely submerged
Looking across at the Cooley mountains.Taken before sunset, and just before a heavy shower of rain

Salterstown,County Louth....
I spent quite some time during the summer months exploring County Louth's tiny stretch of coastline. This shot was taken at around 9pm. I had the loan of a friend's wide angle lens for a few days, which I loved. However I needed to zoom in a bit to avoid vignetting at the sides when using the Cokinfilters. Managed to get this shot just before the rain came...
