A group of us met for a shoot today at Devils Glen, County Wicklow.  We were all anxious to capture some nice autumn colours, and we weren't disappointed.  It rained all day, but the moisture helps to give a more intense colour to the vegetation.

River Vartry

River Vartry at Devils Glen - County Wicklow.
31st October 2011
Enjoyed a nice walk through the woods here with my youngest son, Annraoi  and a few other photographer friends today. It rained persistently throughout the day, but nonetheless we still managed to get some shots.
In its depths , the River Vartry rushes over a rocky bed.  In the early 19th century, before the Vartry Reservoir was built in the mountains above, the river came through the glen in full uninhibited majesty, its roaring in throes of flood so loud that locals said the Evil One was howling for sinners down there.
Standing midstream to get this shot was not a good time to discover that my wellies had holes in their soles !!
